Do your products expire?
We use absolutely NO preservatives or chemicals to aid in the preservation of the products. As with any natural product, Crunchy Mamas goods will not last forever. This is why we make small batches at a time and may not always have everything in stock. We suggest keeping an eye on your product for any discoloration or change in odor. If you don’t plan on using your goods within the first few months after purchase, store them in the fridge. The shelf life of each product differs due to the different oils used and how they are stored in your home, however, in general, your products may expire within 4-6 months, so use them often!
Why do you recommend pregnant women not use Smelly Face?
Smelly Face contains carrot seed essential oil and geranium essential oil. These oils are known to help relieve pain related to menstruation and help regulate hormones. This is a great benefit for women in general, however these oils are not recommended for pregnant women, especially those who have had a history of problematic pregnancies. Although there is a lot of debate surrounding the use of many oils while pregnant, with Smelly Face we feel it better to play it safe due to the amount of these two oils used in the serum. More specifically these oils are known emmenagogues, which is defined below:
Emmenagogues (also spelled emmenagogs) are herbs which stimulate blood flow in the pelvic area and uterus; some stimulate menstruation. Women use emmenagogues to stimulate menstrual flow when menstruation is absent for reasons other than pregnancy, such as hormonal disorders or conditions like oligomenorrhea (infrequent or light menses).

How do you flavor your lip balm?
We use only all natural, organic essential oils to flavor our lip balms. We never use dyes, artificial flavors, or fragrances in any of our products.
Where do you get your ingredients from?
We source our ingredients from reputable online vendors who provide certified organic essential oils.
